Since founding Eros in 1977 in India, Mr. Lulla has played an integral role in developing the business into one of the largest content owners and international distributors of Bollywood media.

Mr. Dhirendra Swarup

Non Executive Independent Director

Mr. Dhirendra Swarup is a government-certified accountant and a member of the Institute of Public Auditors of India, and has a post-graduate degree in humanities. He was a member of the Board of the SEBI, and a member of the Permanent High-level Committee on Financial Markets between July 2005 and December 2009. A former civil servant, he retired as secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of India in 2005. He has approximately 45 years of experience in finance, budgeting, audit, public policy, public investments, project appraisal and evaluation of schemes and programmes of the Government of India. Mr. Swarup has also served as chairman of the Pension Funds Regulatory Authority from 2005 to 2009 and Chief of the Budget Bureau of the Government of India from 2000 to 2005. Besides, he was member secretary of the Financial Sector Reforms Commission (2011-13); chairman of Public Debt Management Authority Task Force and currently, chairman of Financial Sector Redress Agency set up by the Government of India.

Mr. Swarup was involved in the drafting of the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2003, and the fiscal rule made thereunder. He has been associated with the International Monetary Fund between 1993 and 2007, and has been Vice-Chairman of the International Network on Financial Education, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development between 2007 and 2009. He has a rich experience in finance sector and has worked in the UK, Turkey and Georgia. He is on the Board of several listed companies, and also acts as chairman and member of several committees.

Mr. Sunil Lulla

Executive Vice Chairman & Managing Director

Mr. Sunil Lulla, received a bachelors’ degree in commerce from University of Mumbai. He has over 25 years of experience in the Media & Entertainment industry. Mr. Lulla has valuable relationships with talent in the Indian film industry and has been instrumental in our expansion into distribution in India as well as home entertainment and music. He is associated with Eros Group since formation of the Company and led our growth within India for many years before being appointed Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Eros India on September 28, 2009.

During his stint as the Managing Director, he has contributed his mite to develop and expand the business of the Company in India. Under his leadership, the Company continued to achieve its milestone. He has been instrumental in developing and expanding Eros Group in India and also establishing the Company’s existence in Distribution in India and Home entertainment & music sector.

Mr. Sunil Lulla is the brother of Kishore Lulla.

Mr. Kishore Lulla

Executive Director

Mr. Kishore Lulla is our Executive Director and Executive Chairman and Director of Eros International Plc, our parent company. Mr. Lulla received a bachelor’s degree in Arts from Mumbai University. He has over 30 years of experience in the filmed entertainment and media industry. He is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and Young Presidents’ Organization and also a board member for the School of Film at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has been honored at the Asian Business Awards 2007 and the Indian Film Academy Awards 2007 for his contribution in taking Indian cinema global. In 2010, Mr. Lulla was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year at the GG2 Leadership & Diversity Awards. In 2014, Forbes Asia featured Mr. Kishore Lulla on the list of Best under a Billion. He was also honored with the 2014 Global Citizenship Award by the American Jewish Committee, a leading global Jewish advocacy organization. Mr. Lulla also received the Entertainment Visionary award at the 2015 Annual Gala Dinner from the Asia Society of Southern California. In 2015, he was further invited to attend the “billionaires’ summer camp” in Sun Valley, an annual gathering of the world’s most powerful entrepreneurs and business executives like Warren Buffett, DreamWorks Animation’s Jeffrey Katzenbergand Softbank’s Masayoshi Son, Tim Cook, etc.

Mr. Kishore Lulla has been instrumental in expanding the Company’s presence in the United Kingdom, the U.S., Dubai, Australia, Fiji and other international markets. He is responsible for taking the Indian film industry to the global level.

Mr. Kishore Lulla is the brother of Mr. Sunil Lulla.

Mr. S. Lakshminarayanan

Non Executive Additional Independent Director

Mr. S. Lakshminarayanan is our Non Executive Additional Independent Director. He joined the Indian Audit and Accounts service in 1965. After holding various positions in the Audit and Accounts Department, he retired as Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General in 2002. During this period, he served in the Ministry of Personnel and Pensions as Additional Secretary and earlier in the Railways and Ministry of Defense in Government of India. As a result of stints in the various ministers, Mr. S. Lakshminarayanan has gained experience in cadre management, staff welfare, purchases and contracts, financial advice and accounting as well as a good knowledge of the relevant rules and regulations. He has also led offices comprising of as many as 1500 employees and has also provided direction, guidance and administrative framework.

Mr. S. Lakshminarayanan also has various International experience.

Mr. Rakesh Sood

Non Executive Independent Director

Mr. Rakesh Sood joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1976 after completing his M Sc in Physics from St Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Before joining the IFS, he had worked briefly with DCM and SBI. He subsequently pursued post-graduate studies in Economics and Defence Studies.

 

During his 36 year long diplomatic career, Ambassador Sood served in Brussels, Dakar, Geneva and Islamabad in different capacities and also as Deputy Chief of Mission in Washington. In Delhi, Ambassador Sood set up the Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division and headed it for eight years till the end of 2000. During this period, he was responsible for multilateral disarmament negotiations relating to chemical and biological weapons, nuclear tests etc, bilateral dialogues with USA, Pakistan, France etc and also the ASEAN Regional Forum. Thereafter, he served as Ambassador to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Afghanistan, Nepal and France. After retiring from the diplomatic service in 2013, Ambassador Sood was appointed special Envoy of the Prime Minister (SEPM) for disarmament and non-proliferation issues; he held this position till May 2014.

 

After leaving government, Ambassador Sood has been active in both print and audio visual media, commenting on foreign policy and international security issues, and is frequently invited to speak by think tanks, in India and abroad.

Mrs. Jyoti Deshpande

Non Executive, Non Independent Director

Ms. Jyoti Deshpande has over 25 years of experience in media and entertainment across advertising, media consulting, television and films. She has been part of the leadership team of Eros International since 2001 and as Group CEO & MD since 2009, she has spearheaded Eros’ growth as a global leader in Indian filmed entertainment. From April 2018, Ms. Deshpande has joined Reliance Industries to head the Media and Entertainment business as President of the Chairman’s Office. Reliance Industries Limited is India’s largest private sector company with business interests spanning hydrocarbon exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail and 4G digital services. In her new role at Reliance Industries, Ms. Deshpande will lead the company’s initiatives in Media and Entertainment to organically build and grow businesses around the content ecosystem such as Broadcasting, Films, Sports, Music, Digital, Gaming, Animation etc., as well as integrate Reliance Industries’ existing media investments such as Viacom, Balaji Telefilms and Eros with a view to build, scale and consolidate the fragmented $20 billion Indian M&E sector. Ms. Deshpande was featured in the prestigious Fortune India magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business (2017/2015) which celebrates the journeys and triumphs of women who not only impact their organizations but are also thought leaders in their industry.

Mr. Sunil Srivastav

Non-Executive Additional Independent Director

Mr. Sunil Srivastav was a Dy. Managing Director – Corporate Accounts Group in State Bank of India. He was responsible for large corporate credit exposure including project and infrastructure financing for the bank. He holds a proven track record in in his various roles in different capacities at SBI which include DMD – CSNB, CGM – Kolkata and GM – Delhi. During his esteemed tenure at SBI, as DMD – CSNB, he has overseen initiating the Bank’s foray into digital delivery of financial products and services including but not limited to areas like wealth management, an e-wallet and the next generation mobile banking solution and initiation of SBI’s foray into new lines of businesses including identification and negotiation with global JV partners. As CGM – Kolkata at SBI, Mr. Srivastav was tasked with managing and growing operations of a network of 1450 offices in Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar. His role included evolving business strategy, improving operational efficiency, delivering the bank’s products and services to a diverse base of wholesale and retail customers. He was at the time responsible for a workforce of 18000 employees across different business verticals. In his early years as GM – Delhi at SBI, he was in charge of the bank’s network in North India. This included a specialized business vertical that was focused on mid-size corporate clients and an assignment that involved growing the bank’s business in the difficult mountainous terrain in the State of Uttarakhand.
